- Go to the Windows Defender Firewall window in the control panel and click the Inbound Rules option.
- Select New Rule and go to the Ports option.
- Tap Next to open the next window and click the TCP option between UDP & TCP displayed on the screen.
- Move to the Specific Local ports section and check out the following list to add new firewall ports according to the QuickBooks version you use-
- QuickBooks Desktop 2017:8019, 56727, 55373-55377
- QuickBooks Desktop 2018:8019,56728,55378-55382
- QuickBooks Desktop 2019:8019, XXXXX
- QuickBooks Desktop 2020 and recent:8019, XXXXX.
- Choose the correct port for your QuickBooks and click Next.
- Tap Allow the connection and click Next to create a new rule.
- Give it any desirable name and tap Finish to save the changes.
- Repeat all these steps again after selecting Outbound Rules instead or Inbound Rules.
- Close the control panel menu and run QuickBooks again.
