MBBS in Philippines: NMAT Exam Syllabus & Eligibility

National Medical Admission Test is a national level exam conducted in the Philippines to upgrade the selection process for medical admission. It is popularly known as NMAT Exam and conducted twice in a year. Students must have good knowledge about NMAT Exam Syllabus to prepare well for the exam. 

Students who want to get admission in top medical colleges in Philippines or currently enrolled to study MBBS in Philippines. MBBS in Philippines is divided into two parts. The first one is BS/AB course with a duration of 1.5 years. After the study of three semesters in this course, students have to appear in the NMAT Exam.

National Medical Admission Test is compulsory that students qualify this exam with good marks. The Exam duration is 5 hours and 30 mins. The first part is 180 mins and the duration of the second part of exam is 150 mins.

NMAT Exam Syllabus 

According to NMAT Exam Syllabus, the first part of this exam tests the mental ability of the candidate. In this part, students need to solve the questions of verbal, inductive, quantitative aptitude and reasoning questions. To solve the questions of this section, students will have only 180 minutes. 

Verbal- comprehension and analogies

Inductive reasoning- figure grouping, Figure series, Letter and Number series
Quantitative- Data interpretation, fundamental operation.
Perceptual Acuity- hidden and mirror figure 

Second Part of NMAT Exam

The second part of the NMAT Exam contains the questions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry and social science. For this part of the exam, the exam conducting body has given only 150 minutes.

NMAT Eligibility Criteria

Students who wish to get admission in MCI approved medical colleges in Philippines have to pass the NMAt Exam. To appear in the NMAT He/she must complete the eligibility criteria for the exam. The Philippines accepts 10+3 academic pattern. As an Indian Student, age should not be less than 17 years. 

Academic Qualification- Students must hold 50% marks in the higher secondary exam from a recognizable education board like CBSE, ICSE or state board. PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) should be the main subjects along with English subject on the board

After getting admission in medical colleges of the Philippines, students have to study three semesters in BS/AB course. The complete degree (Equivalent Degree to MBBS) will be offered to students only if they qualify the National Medical Admission Test.
