A fully functional braking system is required to ensure the safety of both the passengers as well as the people on road. It is one of the most essential parts of your car. In case you find any issue with the car braking system, visit a service provider immediately. Ignoring such signs lead to fatal accidents. Mentioned below are 4 symptoms of an impotent braking system:-

Makes loud noise

While driving your car, if you hear a loud noise every time the brake pedal is applied, it requires immediate attention. Just like machines wear off over time, the same happens to the braking system after prolonged usage. The brake pads that are forced against the rotors to stop the car, eventually wear off. When a worn out brake pad touches the rotor, a scrappy sound is produced. This calls for the replacement of the brake pads. However, if you hear a squeaky sound that is because of dirty and dusty brake pads and once they are cleaned properly, the noise will disappear too.

Taking longer than usual to stop the car

When the automotive disc brake pads wear off, the potency of the braking system is compromised. The worn out brake pads take longer because they have a thin lining of friction materials that are incompetent to stop the car in time. Under such circumstances, replace the brake pads as soon as possible to avoid any dangerous or fatal accident.

The braking pedal seems loose or vibrates

If the braking system of your car is compromised, you can understand it while driving. Pay attention when you rest your foot on the brake pedal. In case the pedal vibrates slightly, it means that the brake lining is worn off. An incompetent brake lining results in a vibrating brake pedal. Also, if you feel that the pedal is a little loose than usual, there is a possibility that air has entered into the brake lining and caused the pedal to feel soft. Make sure that you visit a service provider and get it fixed.

Thin brake pads

To ensure your own safety, always check the brake pad if you are suspicious about the condition. Peek through the wheels and check the brake pads. If they appear less than ΒΌ of an inch, you should replace the brake pads.

The aforementioned points are some of the key symptoms that imply an incompetent braking system. Leading brake pad and control cable manufacturers in India always suggest replacing them as soon as possible to avoid any accident.
