Kids are fond of crayons and a box full of colors. But after constant usage or long period of non-usage, these wax crayons get old as well as useless. You can use old and dingy crayons as a fun DIY craft tool for kids. Today we are going to share a stepwise process of making a DIY Wax Paper Lantern at home. It recycles not only the crayons but also a pretty fun craft activity idea for children. With limited home supplies, you can make a beautiful Lantern. So let’s get started! Items needed to make a Wax Paper Lantern- Old Crayons Craft Sticks or Ice Cream Sticks Wax Paper Old newspapers or Scrap paper Before beginning with the process, it is worth mentioning that the procedure involves the use of Iron, and so must be done under adult supervision. Step 1: At first, cut a piece of wax paper (10-12 inches long), fold it in half along the length. Now fold each half part again and again so that you end up with two sheets.

Step 2: Put crayons shavings of various colors in a paper cup. Sprinkle shavings on one part of the wax paper. Fold it over the shavings inside and press it with an iron (Adult supervision required!!).

Step 3: The crayons will meltdown on the paper and form beautiful colored patterns. Repeat this process on four sheets of paper in the same way. Step 4: Trim your above wax paper sheets into 4*4 squares. Stick craft sticks on the borders of paper sheets using the glue. Step 5: Finally, put all the sheets together in the shape of a lantern shown in the image below. Add battery-powered tea light inside your lantern for a more realistic look.
