Here are a few places that you can visit when you're in Rhone:

Vieux Lyon

Vieux Lyon sits on the River Saône quayside, overlooked by Renaissance-era mansions with hidden courtyards and terracotta-tiled roofs. The medieval Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste is noted for its ornate astronomical clock, while the Movies & Miniature Museum showcases scale models by miniaturist Dan Ohlmann. Hilly, medieval streets lead to fine-dining restaurants and stylish bars selling Beaujolais wines.

Parc de la Tête d'Or

Parc de la Tête d'or, in Lyon, is a large urban park in France with an area of approximately 117 hectares. Located in the 6th arrondissement, it features a lake on which boating takes place during the summer months.

La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is a minor basilica in Lyon. It was built with private funds between 1872 and 1884 in a dominant position overlooking the city. The site it occupies was once the Roman forum of Trajan, the forum vetus, thus its name.

Fourvière

Reached by funicular from Vieux Lyon, hilltop Fourvière centers around the ornate Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière. The Tour Métallique de Fourvière overlooks tree-shaded Des Hauteurs Park and resembles a mini Eiffel Tower. Open-air concerts are held at the Théâtre Gallo Romain, which connects by tunnel to the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon-Fourvière and its Roman treasures. Brasseries cluster at the foot of the hill.

Beaujolais

Beaujolais is a historical province and a wine-producing region in France. It is located north of Lyon, and covers parts of the north of the Rhône département and parts of the south of the Saône-et-Loire département. The region is known internationally for its long tradition of winemaking, and more recently for the enormously popular Beaujolais nouveau.
