The Toyota Alteza's first generation was on the market from 1998 to 2005. The Toyota N platform, which provided a powertrain of 2-3L engines paired with 4,5 or 6 automatic and manual transmissions, was used to create the four-door sedan and five-door station wagon.

Engine & Performance

Toyota produced the Altezza only once, from 1998 until 2005. Following that, Lexus, the second generation of Altezza, was manufactured between 2005 and 2008. This sports car's driving and handling are excellent. Its speed is comparable to that of other luxury sports cars at the entry level. The Alteza might be the best option for you if you're looking for speed.

The first-generation Toyota Altezza has a 2.0L 1G-FE six-cylinder engine that produces 153 horsepower and is linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It also has a 2.0L 3S-GE four-cylinder engine that produces 207 horsepower and is mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. While the AS200 sedan model comes with a 6-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Altezza RS200 is paired with a 5-speed automatic.

The Altezza IS300 sedan was the only Altezza model with a 3.0L inline-six (2JZ-GE), which generates 217 horsepower and is coupled to a 5-speed manual. This variant had a 5-speed automatic transmission for the global market and was exclusive to the United States. The Altezza Gita sport cross (wagon) with a 5-speed automatic transmission was another.

Fuel Consumption

Two versions of the 2.0L (3S-GE) engines: inline 4-cylinder 1,998cc, 2.0L (1G-FE) inline 6-cylinder 1,998cc, and 160 horsepower are available. For the inline 6-cylinder 1,998cc offers a 160 horsepower engine, with stable gasoline, while the inline 4-cylinder 1,998cc offers a 210 horsepower engine, high octane. A sodium-filled system was used for the exhaust valve to withstand the high power output of the 210 horsepower engine. The inline 6-cylinder 1,998cc offers 160 horsepower with a 4-speed automatic gearbox and the inline 4-cylinder 1,998cc offers 210 horsepower with a 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission. All cars have front-wheel drive as their drive mechanism.

The Toyota Altezza's inline 6-cylinder, 1,998cc with 160 horsepower uses 11.6 km/L of fuel, while the inline 4-cylinder, 1,998cc with 210 horsepower uses 11.0 km/L.  One of the well-known Toyota brands is the Altezza, which performed admirably. The pricing are fair, and the servicing and replacement parts are readily available.
