Reaching The Summit, Together

Building a successful business can feel like climbing a mountain. Sometimes you make great strides upward, sometimes bad weather drives you down to base camp. Any good climber, however, will tell you that it isn't the elevation that matters, but the team you have with you pushing you to continue toward the clouds. This is the philosophy that Robyn Benincasa has adopted over the course of her long career as a firefighter, world-class athlete, adventure racer, and as a high-impact business speaker.

In a new keynote presentation, Benincasa takes your team by the hand and shows them how to build a world-class team that will keep moving forward toward those audacious goals with one heart and one mind.

“Adapt, Overcome, And Win: 5 Secrets To Extreme Teamwork”

Benincasa’s new talk is the latest in a series, each of which focuses on a different aspect of team building and corporate culture. In all of her talks, she emphasizes that in the quest to become the best of the best, nobody wins alone - the more difficult the challenges and changes, the more critical the team.

The unique thing about adventure racing, as Robyn experienced, was that the entire team had to cross the finish line together, or they were disqualified. They had to care for one another as much as they cared for themselves and shared both their strengths and challenges. Today, Robyn teaches this same approach to teams, helping them adapt, overcome, and win as one.

That’s what created the unique brand of Teambuilding that allowed Benincasa and her teammates to create consistent success over 20 years of racing.

And now she’s bringing the same principles to the stage to teach organizations how to build a world class team that succeeds against the toughest of odds and can achieve goals that no individual could ever accomplish alone, no matter how great their individual talents are.

Who Is Robyn Benincasa?

The experienced keynote speaker began her career in sales in the pharmaceutical and hospital supply industry for 8 years, where she gained a deep understanding of the challenges today’s businesses face before shifting careers to become a full-time San Diego Firefighter for 23 years.

Throughout that time and in the years that followed, she participated in some of the most grueling physical challenges known to man. From the leech-infested jungles of Borneo, to the towering peaks of Tibet and Ecuador, to the frigid seas and glaciers of Patagonia and the searing desert of Namibia, Robyn and her teammates raced through some of the most remote corners of the planet for up to ten relentless days and nights, earning them an “honorary Ph.D.” in Teambuilding.

Since then, she has taken the stage at corporate events, speaking before audiences at some of the largest companies in the world. She was also responsible for creating and leading the Athena Project, a non-profit dedicated to leading women who have overcome traumatic setbacks to live more fulfilling, adventurous lives.

The overarching theme behind both her life and her work as a keynote speaker lies in team building, a concept that forms the backbone of her latest presentation as well.

As solo players, she explains, we can’t match the outcomes that a great team can accomplish together. A good deal of that success has to do with not only sharing strengths but also, most importantly, sharing the good, the bad, and the not-so-pretty circumstances that each individual is enduring.

Benincasa provides actionable real-life strategies for building and inspiring a team that is able to connect to one another for mutual gain, whether for a moment, a project, a mutual goal, or a lifetime.
