Annual PastaThon Helping Feed 25,000 Meals Per Week To Hungry Children In SoCal

One of Southern California’s most anticipated annual events, the KFI AM 640 PastaThon benefiting Caterina’s Club will be held November 20 - December 8. This is the 14th year that LA’s #1 talk radio station has organized the program with proceeds helping feed 25,000 meals per week to hungry children at 100 locations in 30 cities throughout Southern California. From Nov 20 - Dec 8, the station will mount an on-air campaign to raise public awareness about childhood hunger right here in Southern California. In addition to monetary donations, pasta and pasta sauce contributions are also being sought.

Smart & Final and Wendy’s will be this year’s sponsors. Smart & Final will be accepting donations of ANY amount at all of its CA, AZ and NV stores at checkout. Meanwhile, the hamburger chain will be collecting cash donations at its restaurants and drive-thru windows throughout Southern California at point of sale. Lincoln Ave #251, Anaheim, CA 92805, please note 'KFI PastaThon' on the check.

The highlight of the program is “Giving Tuesday” on December 3 from 5 am to 10 pm. when KFI AM 640 broadcasts live all day from the Anaheim White House Italian Restaurant and Steakhouse, which is owned by Sir Bruno Serato, who is also founder of Caterina’s Club. Fans are encouraged to drop by, make their donations and see their favorite KFI personalities as they host their popular shows. Since 2010, KFI listeners have raised $7,267,966 and 830,398 lbs pasta/sauce, thus making this annual event Caterina's Club’s biggest annual fundraiser.

Caterina’s Club was founded in 2005 by Sir Bruno Serato who named the nonprofit after his beloved mother. In addition to feeding the children, the organization finds permanent homes for families in need and trains at-risk youth for careers in the food and hospitality industries.
