Post 1917 opened up in early summer this year after a major renovation, turning the historic Post Office Building at 136 Haven Street into a fine dining steakhouse and bar with an elegant lounge feel.

Whether you're planning after-work drinks, a date, or a night out with friends, you can cocktails like a Cucumber Martini and Post Old Fashioned at the 35-seat quarts bar.

"Every day we come in, we come in ready to be the most hospitable group we possibly can. We want everyone to feel like family when they walk through our doors," head chef and owner Jason Carron said in a recent interview with Boston Magazine.

Creative Cocktails with Surprising Ingredients

One of the standout cocktails on the drinks menu is Diced Pineapple, with grilled pineapple, jalapeno-infused tequila, lime juice, mint, and a black lava salt rim. Amalfi Coast is another specialty that has butterfly pea flower tea-infused vodka and Italicus bergamot rosolio as the main components. Made with fee-foam instead of egg, the cocktails are vegan-friendly.

There is also a selection of mocktails, and the bartender is happy to make a suggested drink based on what you like.

Fine Wines and Beers with a Twist

On the wine list, you can find reds, whites, and sparkling from different parts of the world. The beer selection has surprising elements like the Cold Pizza Pilsner, Juice Punch NEIPA, and Blueberry Limeaide as well as classics.

Drool-Inducing Food Menu

The food menu's staples are farm-to-table steaks like a 16 oz New York Strip and ribeye. The restaurant also specializes in seafood, with scallops, yellowfin tuna, and fresh shellfish as popular dishes. If you're really hungry, you could challenge yourself with the 32 oz Long Bone steak.

A guest shared their review: "The restaurant is beautiful; everywhere you look, you can see how much thought went into it. The food and drinks were unbelievable."
