Women receive scholarships from governments and foundations

More and more women are enrolling in higher education, and many of them are returning to college after completing their family. American Association for University Women (AAUW) provides scholarships for women worth $20,000 for the Master's or first professional degree, $25,000 for a doctoral degree, and $50,000 for the post-doctoral degree. Women Scholarship for International Students worth $5,000 is given to a global-minded female student beginning her undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate studies. The applicant must be a woman who is interested in other cultures and is a high achiever with consistently outstanding grades.   

Scholarships by private entities   

Go Girl! Grant by The Girlfriend Factor provides scholarships for women who is at least 25 years of age and is passionate about an educational path that will lead to a career. Society for Women Engineers gives scholarships for women, ranging in amount from $1,000 to $16,000. Applications are usually due between March and the beginning of May. Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award is given to women who are primary earners in their families. The applicant must be enrolled in or accepted to a vocational training program, or a four-year college or university. Amber Grant is a business category grant by WomensNet, that gives $30,000 monthly to one winner in different categories.
