London Fashion Week spring/summer 2013 show guide

London Fashion Week is arguably the most innovative and creative part of the fashion month.

Nowhere on Earth nurtures young talent like the British. This is why we have so many fresh and original designers who have climbed to dizzying heights in a few short seasons.

Newgen favourites such as Mary Katrantzou and Ashish are now LFW staples, whilst fashion collectives such as Fashion East and the Fashion Fringe are still striving to give brilliant launch pads for blossoming and otherwise unknown designers.

Mixing classic British heritage designers and contemporary modern artists is a skill that London alone holds. Here is the rundown of the London Fashion Week ahead of us.

Friday 14th September is the first day, and it certainly starts with a bang. It's a no-holds barred day of mad innovation and true individuality.

Antoni and Alison are expected to start the season, as they did for A/W12, with their digital prints and simple fabric combinations. For those with a minimalist style, this is the show to see.

Fyodor Golan are next on the bill. With only a couple of seasons under their belt, Fyodor Golan has exploded onto the scene and is now a fashion must-see. Think bejewelled faces, masks and exquisite gowns, this isn't fashion for the light-hearted.

Corrie Nielsen gave us a Scottish celebration of tartan last season and quickly became a real talking point of LFW. We'll be getting tickets to this show to watch her elevate even higher on the designer ladder.

PPQ brought the frivolity last season with models parading bicycles down the runway and we can't wait to see what they do this time.

Saturday sees the start of the big hitters. Clements Ribeiro - pattern Gods and digital print masters - will once again take to the runway to showcase their vibrant, feminine wares. Bold make up and to die for accessories always spring from this designer duo.

Fashion East will be presenting a truly talented array of designers this season. Previously James Long, Maarten van der Horst and Astrid Andersen featured on the catwalk to name a few, and this season will bring a fresh round of extremely creative individuals to Somerset House. This is the show to be at if you're searching for the next big thing.

House of Holland will show later on Saturday. Henry Holland is never one to shy away from colour, and this season is sure to be no different. Bold patterns and bizarre silhouettes have made this designer a British favourite.

From audacious designs at House of Holland to the elegance of Issa. Daniella Helayel will bring her beautiful wrap dresses and draping gowns down the runway for the fashion crowd. Expect understated glamour, this is a must-see.

Moschino Cheap and Chic will be making its second appearance at London Fashion Week this season, bringing the fun as always.

The coolest models will be on the catwalk and the most prestigious members of the fash-pack will be flocking to get a seat at this show.

Sunday sees Preen coming back to its home this season! After seasons of showing at New York Fashion Week, this British design label will be coming back to the homeland to give us their best show yet. Expect colours, prints and immaculate tailoring make this brand the modern institution it has become.
