Watson A new Kid
Hello, please welcome Watson to Jeopardy. Another exciting moment
in history, presented to us around dinner time, with a crazy look at
questions and answers, you know that performance game, given five nights
weekly.
Did you see who was on for at least three nights? Or maybe you have
grown accustomed to the face of Robots, doing almost any thing its
programmed to do, that you missed this episode. Oh dear! I hope
absolutely not, you didn't miss Watson. This game was emerging
full of excitement and amazement as I continued to watch.
Watson is a giant Computer, developed by intellectuals, commissioned
to bring together man and machine. It was on trial but worked well. At first,
the question I had was, man is in his universe with all complexities, and
through them all, a Robot named Watson, will not come in and have two
first class game players submit to this machine.
Suddenly, I was surprised to see how Watson was driven with its quick
responses and how its able to select the questions and make a bid. Not
only that, but created some laughter.
Technology has truly come a very long way. I am tempted to ask, where is
Watson heading next ? Be careful now, Watson wasn't perfect, and
in diagnosing complaints one must be accurate. Will you ever be perfect
Watson? bet you can't touch that.
Frankly speaking, the ability to create is embedded within the "Genious Will"
inside each of us. The force of that creative spirit, emerges from the mind
and is always appealing to the senses to cultivate something of beauty large or
small, that glorifies God and offers help to humanity. With much respect I have
to and must tip my hat to Watson and its creators. That was cool.
