Summer is here and is generally considered to be the time of backyard barbecues, the baseball games and the last but not the least swimming parties. It is also believed to be the time when an after hour clinic experiences an influx of patients who are suffering from dehydration. Having severe dehydration can lead a person to life threatening diseases. If you or your family members are unable to cool it off, or exhibit any of the symptoms below then it's the right time for you and your family to visit a clinic or hospital for treatment that will include the Intravenous fluids using the  IV Infusion sets.

The Intravenous therapy that is done using the IV Infusion Set, are generally believed to be the fluids that enter into the blood stream directly through a needle designed specifically for this purpose.

What are the causes of dehydration?

It is believed that dehydration generally occurs when your body loses its fluids. Children are the ones who are prone to dehydration, when compared to the adults who exercise or work out during summer hot and humid days.

1.      High activities being done during humid days, be it exercises or working outdoors does lead your body to lose all its fluids. When high humidity tends to occur your body then struggles to cool down as the moisture in the air prevents perspiration from evaporation.

2.      Having a few illness can also lead an individual to dehydration. Through vomiting and diarrhea you actually lose a large amount of fluids. Kids with the following symptoms should be watched carefully especially when it comes to the signs of dehydration.

3.      Frequent urination will also occur when you have medications taken that are not just diuretic but will also deplete the body fluids. Diuretics are generally believed to be the substances that lead to frequent urination, and are found in a few medications as well.

Symptoms of Dehydration

The most common symptoms of dehydration is thirst. It's OK if you overlook at mild thirst when busy but when the same continues for a longer period of time,  you will them immediately require professional treatment for it. The other symptoms of dehydration include

1.      Muscle cramp

2.      Headache

3.       A dry or a sticky mouth

4.       Infrequent need to urinate

5.      Urine that is dark yellow.

6.      Cool and dry skin.

During extreme level of dehydration you may go into a shock or might even lose consciousness.

How Will IV Fluids through IV Infusion Sets Help

When it comes to cases with mild dehydration, drinking water or electrolyte solutions is generally considered to be sufficient in order to rehydrate your body. The electrolyte solutions have certain kind of dissolved salts that your body requires in order to function. You also lose these salts when you lose water through perspiration, vomiting or diarrhea. For patients who have severe dehydration the iv fluids through iv infusion set is the best. This is true when it comes to children as they are at a great risk of permanent harm through dehydration.

At the hospital or the hour’s clinic you or your child will have a needle inserted into the vein using the IV Infusion Set Manufacturer, and is usually in your arm near the wrist. The needle will then be stabilized with the tape in the patients arm, and then attached to a line which is extending from a bag of iv fluid that is specially designed for rehydration. As the fluid begins to enter into your body you will begin to feel much better quickly.
