Preschool time is a very fragile age for all the kids out there. Parents often worry about how their kids will manage themselves in an environment that is entirely new and alien to them. Preschool teachers admit that it is very common for them to be bombarded with all sorts of questions from worried parents. Parting with the young ones who have barely done anything independently, even for a little while, is definitely a cause for concern. But then again, that is how we all learn. If you are going through something like this, then read on! Here are a few tips -

Communicate

Communicate with your kids and explain this upcoming change to them. The more verbal you are and the more questions they ask, the better prepared they will be. Make school sound fun and interesting so that they do not feel scared about venturing into a space that is not their own. Speak about all the new people they will meet, the new friends they will make, and subtly prepare them for the fact that mom and dad won’t be around during school hours.

Sleep Schedule

For your kids to have an active school life wherein their minds are fresh and alert enough to take in all the information that is being taught, it is necessary to have a proper sleep schedule. If your kids are waking up late or going late to bed, now is the time to fix that. Before preschool admission, you must ensure that your kids follow a healthy routine overall.

Reading Habit

A bedtime routine can have fun elements like reading before finally dosing off. This works wonderfully for kids as they get to exercise their imagination and learn how to read correctly. Besides, who doesn’t like stories? This habit will also make them learn new things and pique their interest and curiosity. They will automatically want to read and gain more knowledge. Also, it works as a bonus benefit at school.

Toilet Prep

This is a massive concern for most parents, and rightfully so. However, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Preschools are well trained and prepared to handle toilet disasters. In fact, they deal with it on a regular basis. Of course, it would be most ideal to train your kids, but it is not really a problem even if they aren’t.

Crying Trips

This is a big one. As parents, you have to be prepared for endless crying sessions before your kid goes off to preschool, and that too, on a regular basis. The anxiety of separation is something that is quite normal during the initial days. As this new change develops into a habit, your kids will get used to it. Past this struggle, there will be happy school days for sure!
