Garmin GPS device not recognized is probably the most common concern of a Garmin device holder. There can be many reasons for it and you can easily resolve any such issue within minutes.

Troubleshooting Garmin GPS Not Detected In Garmin Express Issue

 

If your Garmin Express application is not responding after you connect your Garmin GPS device with the computer, you can follow these points to resolve this issue:

ü  Firstly, ensure that you are using the latest software version in your Garmin GPS device. An older software version in Garmin GPS may have an outdated connection program so it may need to get detected when you connect it in your device.

ü  Check that you have installed the Garmin Express program correctly and all the program files are saved in the C Disk in your system.

ü  Ensure you are using your original USB data cable which you received with your device. If you do not have the original USB, get one from the nearest Garmin store. Using a local USB will reduce the device functionality and will create disturbance in connection with the computer.

ü  Ensure that you are not connecting your device in an extra USB port hub. Always connect the USB cable in the primary port given for the data exchange connections. The extra USB ports should only be used for power charging.

ü  Ensure that the USB cable you are using is not damaged or broken. A damaged cable may show it as connected in your system but it will not be detected in the Garmin Express.

ü  Check that you have attached the device properly and the connection is secure.

ü  It has been seen in some devices that Garmin Express does not recognize them with low batteries, so make sure you have a decent battery level in your system.

ü  Try power cycling your computer. Close all the applications shut them down and wait for a minute. Restart it and check if the issue is resolved.
