co cc domain blocked by google Google Block .CO.CC Free Domains

As I was doing my research into this Taheed guy and his scam website: www.buyfollowers.co.cc  It got me wondering what the end of the domain (co.cc) was and where it came from, and I ran accross the following article: http://www.dailyblogtips.com/google-removed-all-co-cc-domains-from-its-index/

Here is an exerpt from that article:

"yesterday Google confirmed it is removing all the .co.cc domains and websites from its index (i.e., they will not show anymore on any search query, so those domains will not receive any more traffic from Google). The reason is that the majority of the sites using that extension are spammy.

If you are wondering, .co.cc is not a recognized top level domain (as .com or .co.uk are). Instead it’s the domain name of a private company located in Korea, and that is why Google considered it a free hosting provider and blocked it completely"

So there you have it. If you see website domains that end with co.cc, be very careful about using them or buying anything off these sites.

Good luck and happy marketing!

Yes you are right because now google considered co.cc domains are spam.

there are various co.cc sites for social bookmarking and later google blocked all of the sites which are having co.cc because most of the spams are from those sites. Later-on google unblocked these sites.

"just because a website is using co.cc does not mean its a total scam" @Ross...no where does it say in that article that co.cc domains are total scams...but if google removed all the co.cc domains from their index, it would be a good idea not to use them or frequent them. Get my drift?

Ross, why even reply? I can see why this is. A lot of scammers are quick to use co.cc domains as well as .tk domains. I personally have used .tk domains, do not like dot.tk terms of use.

Buy a domain and with cheap unlimited hosting, use sub domains for individual page addresses.

just because a website is using co.cc does not mean its a total scam i use free domain name provides a lot of the time to start projects out sand if i see i build custom off them i then move to a paid domain name like .co.uk or .com or .net.

Yes there are many sites out there that are indeed a scam be not 100% of .co.cc will be a scam many use it even i do. Does that mean i scam because i use a free domain name provider ?

You are very welcome, Laura - I just thought scams shouldn't be "promoted" while being brought into awareness of fellow APSense members. ;-)

All links to the co.cc scam sites have been removed and are no longer clickable links. Thank you Rob for pointing that out to me.
