Chickens and Online marketing
This article is not about selling chickens online. Although a lot of chickens are sold there that are supposed to lay the golden egg.
I happen to have some chickens in my yard. They are so old they do not even lay eggs any more, neither golden ones or normal ones.
Recently it struck me that my chickens have a lot in common with a lot of wannabee marketers.
Every morning they flock to my kitchen door (the internet) and wait for their slice of bread (opportunities).
Something strange happens every morning. My white chicken (internet guru) is always the fastest. All chickens run after him trying to get a piece of it. Every morning my white chicken does get away with the largest slice.
The stupid thing about it is that there are enough slices for all chickens but they completely ignore the other slices of bread I throw in the yard. Instead they chase the white chicken for crumbs.
Another resemblance I noticed. When my chickens see a glimpse of me at the kitchen door they come running to see if there are any more goodies coming. This week my son appeared at the kitchen door. He had old cake instead of old bread. Not only the chickens ignored my son completely they also ignored the slices of cake he threw out in the garden. Only one chicken was smart enough to check it out. That chicken sure hat a full belly that day!
There is one difference though between chickens and online marketers. Marketers have larger brains than chickens I would say and can learn from their mistakes. They can try to become the white chicken or simply go for another slice of bread instead of chasing crumbs. Why don't they I wonder.

Interesting perspective. There are a lot of people online who follow blindly then complain that they can't make money, or it takes too long and just quit. The thing about those chickens following the "guru" is that they just make the "guru" more money in the long run.
