Fishing is one of the most common recreational activities in Minnesota, but not everyone owns a lake house or has access to one. However, Pelican Lake Resort has exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to fishing cabins in Minnesota. With various packages aimed at a wide variety of activities, Pelican Lake Resort is an excellent choice for your vacation.

More about Pelican Lake Resort

Pelican Lake Resort spans over 11,000 acres with a total of 54 miles of shoreline. On campus, the resort has a wide variety of cabins to stay in. These cabins come in all styles and sizes, meaning that they can accommodate your family trip, your weekend out with some friends, or even a solo adventure out in the woods. Trails line the entire campus, so even though fishing is your main activity, there’s still plenty of hiking that can be done and a number of amazing scenic views to take in.

Fishing

Fishing is the key activity at Pelican Lake Resort. Over the years, a wide variety of fish have been known to live in the lake, including Bluegill, Crappie, and many more. The distinct climate of the area means that fish are often biting, making for excellent fishing expeditions for the professional and amateur alike.

Lodging Options

Although cabins are one of the highlights of Pelican Lake Resort, there are many other lodging options. Some options are more like hotel rooms but are located farther away from the waterfront itself. However, it can still make for an excellent stay if you aren’t particularly going after the rustic cabin vibe. Some people who prefer a more familiar and comfortable setting go for the hotel-room atmosphere. However, if you’re trying to get deeply into the spirit of the resort, there are many campgrounds available throughout the area. Campgrounds are often located not far from the waterfront, meaning you can wake up early and get right to fishing.

Attractions

Fishing isn’t the only thing at Pelican Lake. On site there is the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary, which is known for its black bears. It’s one of the only places you can view black bears in their natural habitat while also in safe conditions. There’s also the scenic Voyageurs National  Park and Vermillion Gorge on the premises.

Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or just simply looking for something different,  fishing cabins in Minnesota might be a great way to spend your vacation.
