The Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover SUV produced by Mazda Motors from 2012 to the present. 2012-2016

The 2012 CX-5 is a compact SUV with deluxe interiors, offering comfort, practicality, and reliability at a reasonable price. The vehicle boasts an upscale interior, a pleasant drive, and is well-equipped. The vehicle is not a seven-seater and is less spacious than its competitors. The standard twin-turbo 2.2-liter diesel engine and optional 2.0-liter petrol engine have a consumption rating of 22 km/L and 10 km/L, respectively.

In 2014, a 2.5-liter engine was introduced with a consumption rating of 13 km/L for FWD and 12.8 km/L for AWD. In 2016, the vehicle underwent a facelift, featuring cosmetic improvements, LED head, tail, and fog lights, reduced road noise, and an upgraded infotainment system. The 2013 CX-5 offers a stylish, comfortable, and refined driving experience with standard features like four-speaker audio, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, keyless entry, and high-end models with navigation and leather upholstery.

In 2016, the CX-5 underwent a minor update, featuring a bolder design, more advanced tech fittings, and revised equipment levels to maintain competitiveness. The vehicle features a revised grille, bumper, LED headlights, fog lights, side vents, signature LED taillight, 19-inch rims, and new colors. Mazda has introduced interior changes, including a redesigned dashboard, improved storage capacity, electronic parking brake, touchscreen navigation, and rearview camera standard in all models except the base model.

2017-Present

In 2016, a second-generation model was introduced with enhanced ride comfort, improved soundproofing, additional colors, a remote-controlled tailgate, head-up display, and G-Vectoring Control for enhanced agility. The interior is sophisticated and well-furnished, showcasing superior handling and a high standard of quality. The ride is firm and the engines are uninspiring. The diesel engine underwent minor tuning and tweaks to improve its quietness. 

The 2021 model received a facelift, featuring a redesigned tailgate, head and tail lights, bumpers, larger tailpipes, refurbished seats, and a wireless charging point. The CX-5, despite not being perfect, is an outstanding used crossover SUV with numerous features that make it a highly recommended choice. The 2017 CX-5 comes with standard features like Mazda Connect, Bluetooth, and LED headlights, while optional options include sat-nav, DAB radio, dual-zone climate control, electric leather seats, and heated steering wheel. From 2018 onwards, models featuring blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, low-speed forward collision warning, and mitigation safety features were standard.

In 2020, several safety features were made standard, including lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. The CX-5 maintains its previous engines, including 2.0-liter PE-VPS I4 and 2.5-liter PY-VPS petrol and 2.2-liter SH-VPTS twin-turbo diesel, with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Mazda introduced a 250 hp turbocharged 2.5-liter PY-VPTS inline-4 petrol engine in 2019 for the higher trims of the CX-5.
